Quality over fashion. That’s how the British (and now Oslo-based) designer Thomas Jenkins describes his vision for design. Jenkins is trained as an engineering designer but got frustrated with the lack of connection to the end user and decided to move into the universe of furniture and product design instead. And here, simplicity has become a key element for him. As he strives to come up with new objects that people can live with for a very long time, finding the right balance in a design is vital. It needs to have enough presence for you to grow attached to it, but not so much that you lose interest over time.
