SFritz Hansen | Georg Jubilee Stool

$1,099

Georg Jubilee Stool is designed as a celebration of Skagerak's 40th anniversary. A beautiful mix of Nordic sensuality and Japanese minimalism. The jubilee version revives this original expression of the Georg stool in a novel way, equipped with a rare cushion made of aniline leather from a Swedish tannery. The cushion is attached with a dainty braided leather strap, while the stool itself is created in untreated oak, known for its clear, light grains and sturdiness.

Oak is a sturdy and hardwearing type of wood containing natural tannings that will protect against bacterial growth. Combined with its light, elegant colour and well-defined grains, this makes oak wood safe choice for high-quality interior.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • The wood comes with no finish. If you choose not to treat it with soap or oil, use a suitable cleaning agent for wood.
  • As the wood is untreated it may be affected by grease and colorants. For this reason, we recommend saturating the wood with soap or a suitable furniture oil to make it more resistant. If you wish to use soap or oil, use a suitable product. Be aware that the wood will change colour when applying soap or oil.

The Swedish Tärnsjö tannery has more than 140 years of experience in the art and craft of leather. To colour their products, they use a millennium-old method of vegetable tanning which respects the environment and ensures the development of a unique patina over time. The leather used for this cushion is Tärnsjö’s thinnest and softest, and it has kept its natural appearance through aniline colouring where no colour was added in the finishing process. It has a rich and shifting colour texture and genuine leather feel.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Leather is a living material, and if exposed to direct sunlight, the colour will darken gradually. Likewise, exposure to hot or dry air for a longer time can dry out the leather if it is not regularly conditioned.
  • To freshen up the leather once in a while, we suggest this 4-step cleaning method:

1. Use a clean natural sponge or soft cloth to remove any dust.
2. 2 dl soap flakes for leather is mixed with a little water and whipped until it is dissolved.
3. Use the foam from the mix to carefully wash the leather with a firmly wrung cloth.
4. Use a soft dry cloth to dry off the leather surface.
