• PROPER USAGE AND MAINTENANCE

Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.

  • COMPACT LAMINATE

    Why
Compact Laminate is a high-pressure laminate build up from layers of kraft paper dipped in resin and compressed under heat, forming a hard and homogenous plate. The top and bottom sheets are coloured and impregnated with melamine, which altogether makes it an extremely durable and impact resistant material.

    Cleaning
Use a damp cloth and wipe with a dry cloth afterwards. Marks made by solvent-based pens are best removed using ethyl alcohol, and pencil marks are best removed using an eraser. Wine, fruit juice, etc. may discolour the surface if not immediately removed. For difficult stains, apply a proper furniture cleaner. However, we recommed not to use abrasive materials such as steel wool, scouring powder, etc. for cleaning. If used outdoors we recommend applying a furniture cleaner made for outdoor furniture.

    Maintenance
Darker tables used outdoors will eventually change colour. Applying furniture oil made for outdoor furniture can reduce this. To strengthen the surface and protect against tear and wear, we recommend an after-treatment with a suitable vinyl- and lacquer care. To mimimize the absorbation of moisture, give the edges a little oil 2-3 times a year.

    Winter storage
If used outdoors it is advisable to store the furniture in a garage or cellar during the winter. Because of the possibility of moisture being absorbed at the edge, we recommend storing the table top in a dry frost-free area.

  • POWDER COATED STEEL

    Why
Steel is a strong, timeless and malleable material – enabling designs with thin profiles and various patterns and shapes. To minimize corrosion, the steel is electro-galvanized with a protective layer of zinc. Moreover, the steel has received a decorative powder coating – a high-quality and dry finishing process that gives a stronger and more streamlined surface than conventional liquid paintings.

    Cleaning
Use soapy water and a soft brush. Wipe off with a dry cloth. Note: Do not use abrasive pads or abrasive cleaning agents as this may harm the surface.

    Maintenance
Although sturdy and resistant, powder coated steel is not invincible, be careful not to make scratches in the surface as it will make the material vulnerable to corrosion.

    Winter storage
The product is usable in all types of wind and weather, all year round. However, during wintertime, it is advisable to store the furniture in an unheated room such as a garage or cellar.
