Brass

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, popular for its superb malleability, hardness, corrosion resistance and attractive appearance.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Brass will tarnish over time, especially if it is not kept dry. Find a suitable brass polish and clean the brass carefully without staining other materials.
  • Since brass can be quite susceptible to tarnish, small spots might already have occurred on the product when unpacking. These can easily be polished off.

Teak

Teak is commonly found in Southeast Asia and Central and South America. Our FSC-certified Teak comes from Southeast Asia, Central America and Brazil, while our non-certified Teak comes from plantations in Indonesia and Trinidad; managed to sustain a renewable and reliable supply of wood.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • For regular cleaning use a suitable cleaning agent for wood.

  • As the wood is untreated, the surface will change colour over time and eventually turn into a beautiful silvery grey. To maintain untreated wood, it is a good idea to use sandpaper (grit 120-150) once or twice a year.

Terracotta

Terracotta is a beautiful looking type of earthenware - in this case formed by high-fired clay. Terracotta means 'baked earth' in Italian and the pottery technic can be traced all the way back to ancient Greece.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • The product requires a minimum of care. However, if necessary clean the product using lukewarm or soapy water and wipe with a dry cloth. Be aware that terracotta can be fragile, so take care when moving the item around.
